It's all about the Adventure!

Current snowmobiling conditions in Cooke City Montana as reported by the Antlers Lodge.

Yesterday was blue sky and some powder!!

1/25/12

I need a new camera.  and it's still snowing here.  WE had another 3 feet over the weekend.  and today was awesome powder from a foot to 3 feet in the trees.  Snow is in our forecast through the week and weekend.  Avalanche danger is still high.  Its easy to stay safe if you respect mother nature and stay out of the avalanche chutes.

    1/17/11

Well we got 3 to 8" of new snow sunday night.  More snow coming the rest of the week.  Looks like thursday should be a good day.  Did you catch the weather channel this morning.  There is a Conveyor belt of high moisture system heading for the coast.  And it's setting us up for another fire hose when it hits shore.  Let'er rip.

1/12

We received 8" of new snow out of the last storm.  A couple days ago.  Looks like the next snow will be next week.  starting sun. or mon.  we might get some snow for a few days.

12/29/11

Well we have been getting snow the last three days.  Last night we might have got 6 inches but hard to tell the wind was blowing hard.  So if you know where the wind blows it?  I was in it over my waist.  Today was the first day i had to the bar with no worries of hitting anything.  You still have to be careful in some places.  But things are looking up for sure.  I caught the weather channel this morning and they showed the jet stream lined up for us with storms coming, they call it the fire hose.  oh yeah i like that term.  Let her buck boys.

12/23/11

Went for a ride today and this is what we found.

12/15/11

Well we made it out today.  We have had some new snow the last two days.  It's a good fluffy powder and you can find from 6" to knee deep snow.  You have to be careful in places, and watch for the humps.  It's always great gettin on the sleds.  All in all we don't have as much snow as usual now.  But it's not bad at all for riding, but it ain't great either.

12/4/11

Some new snow last night, 3" in town.  You can find up to knee deep snow in the trees where the wind hasn't blew it away.  You still have to be careful and watch for the humps.  Today wasn't bad at all for riding.  With some fresh snow over night, the new iron sure is nice.

  11/22/11

Well I got 15 miles on the new sled, was u got.  The town side of daisy and lulu are thin, so stick to the trails.  On the other side of the passes there is 4 to 5 feet of snow.  there is a base started, i was sinking in about a foot.  when you step off the sled you would sink to your knees in the powder.  So you can get around just go around the humps.
